Gerstein Fisher is committed to giving back to our community. Here are some of the deserving organizations we supported this holiday season and throughout the year. 


  • Accion International: Accion’s vision is to build a financially inclusive world – one in which every individual has access to high-quality, affordable financial services.
  • Alumni & Friends of LaGuardia High School: Alumni & Friends (A&F) strives to continue and enhance world-class arts education opportunities for all students at LaGuardia High School by providing awards, scholarships, and funds to the school and its students so that regardless of family income, they can successfully pursue their talents.
  • Alzheimer’s Association: The Alzheimer’s association works to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
  • American Camp Association: The American Camp Association is a community of camp professionals who, for 100 years, have joined together to share knowledge and experience and to ensure the quality of camp programs. Because of ACA’s diverse 9,000 plus membership and its exceptional programs, children and adults have the opportunity to learn powerful lessons in community, character-building, skill development, and healthy living — lessons that can be learned nowhere else.
  • American Cancer Society: The American Cancer Society is dedicated to helping persons who face cancer. The organization supports research, patient services, early detection, treatment, and education.
  • American Lung Association: The American Lung Association is the leading organization working to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through education, advocacy and research.
  • Autism Speaks: Since it was founded in 2005, Autism Speaks has grown into the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
  • Bent on Learning: Bent on Learning is a nonprofit organization committed to teaching yoga to New York City public school children. By integrating the practice of yoga into daily routines, the organization helps children feel better about themselves, release stress, and calm their emotions.
  • Best Friends Animal SocietyBest Friends Animal Society wants to bring about a time when there are No More Homeless Pets
  • Blue Hill Troupe: The Blue Hill Troupe brings high-quality theater performances to New York City audiences while raising money for New York City charities.
  • Brooklyn For Peace: Brooklyn For Peace is committed to eliminating war and the social injustices that are its causes. Through active education on international and domestic issues, we empower our community and ourselves to be a productive force in securing a peaceful future for generations to come by building a world where peace is the first response to conflict.
  • Community Resource Exchange: Community Resource Exchange is a nonprofit management consulting firm that makes New York City’s nonprofit organizations stronger and more effective in fighting poverty and advancing social justice. For over 30 years, Community Resource Exchange has worked to create a more just, equitable and livable city for all New Yorkers by offering strategic advice and technical services to over 300 community-based nonprofit organizations.
  • James Lenox House: James Lenox House Association provides comfortable, secure and affordable housing for older adults in New York City through its two residences, James Lenox House and Carnegie East House.
  • Jewish Nation Fund: The Jewish National Fund has evolved into a global environmental leader by planting more than 250 million trees, building over 240 reservoirs and dams, developing over 250,000 acres of land, creating more than 2,000 parks, providing the infrastructure for over 1,000 communities, and connecting thousands of children and young adults to Israel and their heritage.
  • Love Brooklyn Libraries: Love Brooklyn Libraries strives to Save the Brooklyn Business Library, to advocate for preserving libraries from demolition and disposal, to encourage and ensure that Brooklyn Libraries continue to be available to the public, and to ensure that libraries remain a viable and integral part of community life.
  • Lustgarten Foundation: Founded in 1998, The Lustgarten Foundation is America’s largest private foundation dedicated to funding pancreatic cancer research. Based in Bethpage, New York, the Foundation supports research to find a cure for pancreatic cancer, facilitates dialogue within the medical and scientific community, and educates the public about the disease through awareness campaigns and fundraising events.
  • NARAL: National organization advocating for and providing comprehensive information on reproductive rights in the US.
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): National Alliance on Mental Illness is an association of hundreds of local affiliates, state organizations and volunteers who work in your community to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need.
  • PS11 William T. Harris Elementary School: PS11 provides a diverse learning community, including Collaborative Team Teaching (CTT), English Language Learners (ELL), Special Education, and Gifted & Talented (G&T) programs to provide each student with a balanced literacy approach to reading and a hands-on approach to math.
  • The DOME Project: Developing Opportunities through Meaningful Education (DOME) was founded in 1973 to challenge the myriad threats to youth who had fallen through the cracks of the traditional school system. Since its inception, The DOME Project has dedicated itself to meeting the complex needs of young people in trouble with the law, their schools, and themselves, and has helped thousands to develop the necessary skills to regain a sense of self-worth and prepare for success in their education and beyond.
  • The Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH)The Military Order of the Purple Heart fosters an environment of goodwill and camaraderie among combat wounded veterans, promote patriotism, support necessary legislative initiatives, and most importantly, provide service to all veterans and their families.
  • University at Buffalo Foundation: The mission of the University at Buffalo Foundation, Inc., is to support and promote the activities and programs of the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. Among other activities, the Foundation provides advice and counsel regarding philanthropy and fund raising, manages gifts and grants on behalf of the university, and provides a wide range of financial services for the various units of the university.
  • Virtual Enterprises International (VEI)Virtual Enterprises International emphasizes on college and career readiness, VEI is an in-school, live, global business simulation that offers students a competitive edge through project-based, collaborative learning and the development of 21st-century skills in entrepreneurship, global business, problem solving, communication, personal finance and technology.
  • Westchester Land Trust: Westchester Land Trust works together with public and private partners to preserve land in perpetuity, and to protect and enhance the natural resources in our communities.
  • Wildlife Rescue Center of the Hamptons: The Wildlife Rescue Center, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the rehabilitation of wild animals impacted by encroachment of humans on their habitat.
  • World T.E.A.M. Sports: Since 1987, World T.E.A.M. Sports has used athletics to challenge disabled men, women and children to accomplish goals they never thought possible. This organization inspires people with and without disabilities to embrace the human spirit through teamwork and challenging sports events.
